Adding Pages

| Adding an Item (a "Page") | Sharing an Item | Deleting an Item (a "Page") | Refreshing Items & Menus |

Adding an Item (a "Page")
To add a new item to your site, you first need to decide where you want the item to appear within the menu structure. Click on the Item name at the level you want your new item to appear under. Once inserted, you can move an item up or down the level it is on, however you cannot move an item to another level or section of the site. The only way to effect a move is to copy an item into a new menu position (see Sharing an Item) then delete the original item.

After clicking the "Add Item Below" link the admin screen will reload with the following screen:

Create the item by naming it, selecting an item type, create content if required (clicking "edit content" button) then click "continue". The item is not added to the database until you have clicked the continue button.

Set item status to Hidden until you are ready for your item to be available on your live site.

If you’re using this function to move an item, once you’ve copied it to its new location, you can delete the original.

Deleting an Item (a "Page")
Items can be deleted on the ?Define Item’ screen - by clicking the 'Delete’ button (or by right-clicking the item name in the Item Manager. Note - once deleted, items cannot be 'undeleted’. The only way to restore a deleted item is to recreate it manually.

If you delete any item that has children, a replacement hidden item (named "Deleted Item") will be created with the orphaned children, grandchildren etc attached. This effectively disconnects the affected children from the website front end, but gives you the option to adopt them elsewhere on the site.

Similarly, the status of an item impacts on its children, grandchildren etc.
