The Mailing List module allows you to manage and send e-mail to a list of members of your web site or from external sources such as a mailing list or a file from your CRM. Site members can also subscribe and unsubscribe to your lists through a page on your site - the list manages itself! If you have the profiling module, choose the recipients who are to receive your newsletter or email based on the profiling criteria you choose from the profiles of your members.
The Mailing List module supports basic merge fields, so mailings can be personalised with the members name or other pertinent information from their profile. The module also supports multipart/mime. This allows your mailing to contain text and HTML versions, so recipients will be able to view them irrespective of what e-mail program they are using.
